Past Training – November AFPHS 2023 Training – Communicating
Viruses such as COVID-19, the flu, and respiratory syncytial virus are common during the fall and winter. Older adults have a higher risk of complications from these diseases, thus it recommended that they receive all three vaccines. The November AFPHS Training focuses on vaccine communication for older adults. Speakers for this session are part of the Public Health Communications Collaborative (PHCC). The PHCC, founded by the CDC Foundation, the de Beaumont Foundation, and Trust for America’s Health, provides resources and information to help public health communicators address misinformation using shareable graphics, social messaging, and other communication tools.
The November blog post includes a few communication strategies for public health to drive vaccine acceptance and dispel hesitancy amongst older adults.
