Past Training – March 2021 – Public Health’s Role in Addressing Social Isolation

Zoom March 18, 2021

Social isolation and loneliness have become major issues during the COVID pandemic, with older adults separated from their families and with limited opportunities for engagement. All sectors have a role to play to increase and improve engagement among older adults, especially during a pandemic. TFAH’s third AFPHS training focused on the impact of social isolation on older adults and how communities have pivoted to create social engagement opportunities.

Speakers were:

Dr. Thomas Cudjoe – Assistant Professor of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University

Kexin Yu – PhD Candidate, University of Southern California

Carol Moehrle – District Director for Public Health, Idaho North Central District

Sara Link – Director of No Wrong Door, Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services
