A structured, interactive learning experience for public health professionals to build expertise, strengthen collaboration, and advance healthy aging in their communities.

What Is a Learning Community?

The AFPHS Learning Communities bring together public health professionals from across the country to move from learning about age-friendly public health to putting it into practice.

Participants will explore the AFPHS 6Cs Framework, learn from experts and peers, identify opportunities within their own agencies and communities, and develop an actionable plan for advancing age-friendly public health practice.

Grounded in the AFPHS 6Cs Framework

The AFPHS Learning Communities are grounded in the 6Cs Framework for Age-Friendly Public Health Systems and will build upon the AFPHS 6Cs Training and Implementation Guide. The learning communities will provide participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the framework and explore practical strategies for applying the 6Cs to public health programs, policies, and partnerships.

Through expert guidance, peer learning, and collaborative discussions, participants will explore how the 6Cs can inform their work, strengthen organizational capacity, and support the integration of healthy aging into public health practice, with advancing equity at the center.
